IBM Study Truck 2020: The future of hybrid trucks
IBM is announcing a major new study on the future of the trucking industry.
Truck 2020 says that some of the traditional reasons for fleet purchases – such as the brand name of the truck – have gone out the window, and now there is incredible pressure for hybridization of trucks, which can cut costs and pollution. For example: 10,000 hybrid trucks on the road would reduce diesel fuel use by 7.2 million gallons per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 83,000 tons.     This would be great for small businesses because it could help lower the cost of shipping supplies. With better technology comes lower prices. I'll keep an eye on this research.

    As there is major part of the pollution is generated by the commercial trucks moving around the whole world every day, if this trucks are become the hybrid and start to run on the fuel as well as on the battery then it helps a lot to minimize the pollution as well as the fuel consumption.
